Healing ourselves: A journey within

December 12, 2018 • Manpreet Mitra • Female • 27 • Raipur

This photograph is created by my husband-friend-coach, who sees in me a beautiful future for himself, for me and our ‘future’ family. I as a successful woman.

And this is exactly something that I desire yet totally struggle working with. I think I am not what I seem like in the picture, however yes it also is something I am holding myself to see/feel in reality.

It’s been about 5 years since I met him and began the process of holding myself accountable for my well-being. Yet I began understanding the healing process only recently, since I held my first sister circle on International Women’s day this year. At this point I must accept and advocate that healing is painful, it takes a courageous heart(s) and support of oneself despite or in spite of the suffering.

This has been a tough business, personally and professionally!

These are some of the words that I am working around to redefine a positive sense of Self. And there’s so much I have to work upon!

This path of healing is quite adventurous as well, you know. Very recently, during one of my meditations I delved into deeper repressed memories and it was revealed to me that between 4 – 6 years of age I was molested by one of the close relatives. Well, on various other grounds, I have disconnected with all of them for sometime now. This, I think, is quite helpful in the current stream of events. I am more able to embrace the healing power.

To share the truth, I do get exhausted while dealing with the emotions that have surfaced along.

Now that I have opened up I feel like sharing something else too from my childhood.

Since as young as five, I have been attached to a principle that I recite as follows: ‘service is a medium to a fulfilling living. And this life is for service.’ a version derived out of a teaching by Guru Nanak Dev ji. And I wouldn’t have been where I am today, if not because of everyone who touched my life.

Well, at this stage, where next month on new moon I will be turning 28, I seek your blessings and invite you to join in this journey of acceptance, appreciation, healing and raising our feminine power.

Let us lead our paths together!
